A smart bunch of students from the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds were treated to a sermon of my finest preachy, self-actualisation-fuelled diatribe on the 27th October 2015 as part of their Media Futures event.

For posterity, you’ll find my presentation notes here, but it’s much easier to catch something if you just watch the youtube slide/audio presentation below.

If you’d like me to unleash dangerous forces for good in your students (or employees) and set them on a path of happiness and fulfilment in freelancing, then hire me for your inspiring public speaking, enterprise or career event. You’ll be in good company, like Leeds Trinity University, Leeds University and Leeds Beckett university (formerly Leeds Metropolitan University).

The Human Freelancer book

LOOK! There's a book full of this shit and more!

Self-help business books perpetuate the myth that success is relentless growth and more of everything means progress. They preach about bookkeeping and market research: things you might need to do of course. But let’s face it they’re fucking boring.

The Human Freelancer book is your antidote: stuffed full of emotional support and insightful advice for vulnerable newbies to self-employment like you.
